Choosing the Correct AnchorThe Arizona based Benner-Nawman Company is the Master Distributor for the Sanko Brand concrete anchors in the United States, Canada and Mexico. Sanko, a Japanese specialty construction product manufacturing company, was first to develop several different types of these anchor products and over the years their designs have become the standard of the industry. Benner-Nawman, a company known for, quality products engineered with intelligence and imagination, has been in the Construction Distribution business since 1925. They are well known for their complete line of job site portable rebar benders and cutters. Because of their experience in the concrete construction industry, concrete anchoring was a natural progression. Benner-Nawman Company offers several anchor varieties and sizes that are guaranteed to fill the specific task required for attaching items to already cured concrete. You can also expect the same level of quality that you have come to know from the rest of Benner-Nawman’s product lines. The Sanko Brand Anchors are manufactured under ISO9000, ICBO certification. The Sanko CT-type drop-in anchors and GT-Type drop-in anchors are internally threaded controlled expansion anchors. They are built to a .03mm tolerance in expansion differential. These anchors have been designed to be used with a setting tool to ensure full anchor expansion. This type of anchor is recessed in the concrete so if it is no longer needed simply plug or fill with cement to make the surface smooth again. An example of this application would be the mounting of a heavy concrete saw used to cut windows and doors into cured concrete walls. This type of drop-in anchor is suitable for flush mounting applications. The inside threads are machine rolled rather than cut which gives this product superior holding strength. The GT type anchor is also a drop-in similar to the CT. The main difference is the GT is designed with a lipped top for a semi-flush installation into concrete. The Sanko C-Type anchor is a hammer driven fastener. This anchor features a hardened center pin that is driven through the center of the product to expand the anchor in cured concrete. The C-Type is made of high strength steel with a greater leg expansion to ensure a firm gripping contact. It includes a nut and washer that can be set to various depths. It is very easy to install because the depth of the hole is not critical and no special tools are required for setting the product. Just hammer the pin in and the anchor tensions itself automatically, holding the anchor in place. Unlike other anchors, no torque wrench is required to set. The C-Type anchor is set when the center pin is flush with the top of the bolt, making it very easy to inspect. The Sanko HAS-weld anchor is designed with an external bottom bearing expansion plug. It is designed to be hammered in and then product attachment of equipment is done by direct welding to the exposed stud. This is a simple anchor system that leaves a weld stud exposed for use. This anchoring method is ideal for installation of window, shutter, and door framework. Simply drill a hole, insert the anchor, and hammer into place to set the anchor. The Sanko Anchor Setting Tools are specifically designed to be hammered into the center of the drop-in anchors such as the CT or GT types mentioned above. These specialized tools are available in different sizes to specifically match up with the various sized anchors that are available. The setting tools are designed to so that when the shoulder of the setting tool is flush with the top of the anchor, the anchor is set properly. These setting tools are made of hardened tool steel and are designed not to bend or break and to last for many installations. The Sanko Anchor Bucket package from Benner-Nawman is designed to give the contractor everything he needs to get the Sanko anchor set in place. The anchor bucket includes 500 drop-in anchors, 2 specialty concrete drill bits, and 1 setting tool. Contractors can choose from the CT or GT type anchors. The drill bits included in the bucket are designed specifically for use with the Sanko anchors. The drill bits have a quad head carbide tips for extended life and to actually bore the pilot holes in round for superior gripping of the drop in anchor. The drills are available in either HEX or SDS-plus shank styles. They also have a pre-measured depth guide etched on the flute corresponding with the required depth for the CT and GT type anchors. This is a great package that allows the contractor to get working with just one simple order and then keeps all of the necessary items in a single location for the job they perform together. |
