This is principally an interior distribution box that can be used for communication

This box is usually located in the garage, closet, or laundry/utility room and is mounted
prior to drywall application between 16” centered studs. It is made of
20 gauge galvaneal steel with an off-white finish. The lid is fastened
with four zinc-coated phillips head sheet metal screws. The interior is open
at both the top and bottom to allow coiling of cable into the wall and it has
a 1/2” plywood backboard.
